ResumoThe nosological relationship between Bickerstaff s brainstem encephalitis (BBE) and Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) has yet to be clarified. We report results of the autopsy of a patient for whom overlapping BBE and GBS was diagnosed clinically. This and similar cases support the original authors' hypothesis that BBE is closely related to GBS.
