Resumo: We report a patient with bilateral vocal cord paralysis and upper airway obstruction following Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). A permanent tracheostomy was necessary to maintain adequate ventilation and to prevent alveolar hypoventilation. Despite abduction paralysis, the patient talks normally.
