Resumo: Guillain-Barré syndrome is an autoimmune peripheral neuropathy that develops as a result of various infections.Campylobacter jejuni , a pathogenic organism of acute enteritis, has been identified as a major pathogen of prior infection . It has been proved that ganglioside which is a constituent component of human peripheral nerve and polypolysaccharide similar in structure exist on the bacterial body and autoantibody which reacts with ganglioside is detected in the patient's blood , Molecular homology hypothesis has been proposed as a mechanism of onset of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
