ResumoThe article discusses several Brazilian physicians and health officials who claim that the mosquito-borne Zika virus, which has been associated with brain damage in infants, may also be linked to hundreds of cases of the rare condition Guillain-Barré (GB) syndrome which can cause patients to become nearly completely paralyzed for weeks. According to the article, the Zika virus is spreading throughout Brazil and other nations in Latin America. The Chikungunya virus is assessed.
