Sustentability in the energy sector the Swedish experience

Notas: This paper provides an overview of the Swedish energy system in terms of supply, sources and use of energy, addressing the major changes that the energy sector has undergone in the past three decades. It also discusses how the country is addressing new challenges in the energy sector defined as the technological challenge, sustainable development and restructuring of new markets. Finally, the paper extracts some lessons of the Swedish experience that can bring insights to other countries in the context of increasing globalisation, structural changes and environmental concerns.
